The Celebrant sets the tone for
the rest of your Wedding celebrations and therefore
needs to be selected very carefully. When comparing
fees think of the expense involved in a Wedding Cake
$400, hire cars up to $450 and Flowers $500. Given that
your Marriage Celebrant is the one person/expense you
must have at your Wedding I encourage you to focus on
having a Celebrant who you can relate to, one who will
give you a meaningful ceremony which reflects on who
you are and what marriage means to you, someone who
instills in you both a level of confidence that your
ceremony will be handled professionally, one who undertakes
Professional Development each year and adheres to a
high level of service and abides by the Celebrants Code
of Practice are key features in selecting a Celebrant. |
|
It is fair to say, as in all professions,
we are all different, some may not have the passion
and attention to detail that you may desire. Do not
be swayed by cheap quotes, remember, you get what you
pay for. |
|
Even though most guests only see
the Celebrant for less than an hour at the Wedding,
the reality is each Wedding requires at least 13 hours
– even the simple ones with only a few guests.
The preparation time is required in consultations, checking
the Notice of Intended Marriage form and legal documents,
writing and creating the Ceremony, the Rehearsal, countless
emails, printing of the Marriage Certificates and documents.
Then on the day, checking of all the details, travelling
time, making sure personal presentation is at it’s
best, early arrival to set up and talk to those involved,
conduct the Wedding Ceremony and afterwards the responsibility
of registering the Marriage with Births, Deaths and
Marriages. |
|
Your Celebrant is usually flexible
with booking times and makes themselves available for
evening appointments and works weekends. Taking all
this into account, your Celebrant’s fee is only
a small percentage in the overall Wedding budget. |
|
The Ceremony is the most important
part of your day. It is the memory you make which will
support you in the future and it is the blueprint for
your Marriage. What is said and what is done in the
Ceremony obviously needs careful preparation so give
your Wedding Ceremony considerable attention. There
are many details which contribute to a great Ceremony.
This is the special moment in your life when you and
your beloved express the love and commitment you have
for each other with your friends and family. The memory
of that sacred moment will stay with you throughout
your married life. |
